What expenses can I claim for when self employed?

You need to keep any work related expenses so that if HMRC wants to confirm an expense you will have proof.

You can deduct a great deal of your business expenses to calculate your businesses profit – however , you can’t deduct any private spending. And you may claim special reliefs for certain ‘capital expenditure’ – one-off expenses to acquire or improve an asset you keep and use for the business.

I am a self employed courier can I claim back of my mobile phone charges as I have to be contactable. I also have to have plugged in and charged every day the PDA supplied to me.Can I claim any electrical expenses.
