I work as a taxi driver in Leeds. I have recently registered as self employed and will need to do my tax return soon. I want to know what expenses can I claim against my income.

There are a number of work related expenses that you can claim if you are a taxi driver, such as:
1. Mileage allowance – this can be calculated at 40 pence for the first 10,000 miles and 25 pence for each mile after this
2. Capital cost of vehicle
3. Household expenses – You may be eligible to claim some of your household expenses against your profit.
